Then the seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!” So he said to them, “I
saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full
force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that
your names stand written in heaven.”
Luke 10:17-20

You give me your protective shield;
your right hand supports me;
your willingness to help enables me to prevail.

Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the
presence of many witnesses.

O Lord, do not let the wicked have their way!
Do not allow their plan to succeed when they attack! (Selah)
Psalms 140:8

When they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him, and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, because he
has seizures and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they
were not able to heal him.” Jesus answered, “You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with
you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him here to me.” Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him,
and the boy was healed from that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it
out?” He told them, “It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you
will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:14-21

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith! Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me.
The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day – and not to me only, but also to all who have set their
affection on his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8

But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and who makes known through us the
fragrance that consists of the knowledge of him in every place. For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those
who are being saved and among those who are perishing – to the latter an odor from death to death, but to the former a
fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? For we are not like so many others, hucksters who peddle
the word of God for profit, but we are speaking in Christ before God as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God.
2 Corinthians 2:14-17

You have not yet resisted to the point of bloodshed in your struggle against sin. And have you forgotten the exhortation
addressed to you as sons?
“My son, do not scorn the Lord’s discipline
or give up when he corrects you.
“For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.”
Hebrews 12:4-6

But they overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on
behalf of his name.
Romans 1:5

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one
who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us. Who will
separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or
sword? As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be
slaughtered.” No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am convinced that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor
depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:33-39

This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. Such trials show the proven
character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold – gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away –
and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. You have not seen him, but you love him. You do
not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, because you are attaining
the goal of your faith – the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:6-9

19
You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from
a pure heart.
1 Peter 1:22

Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles to keep away from fleshly desires that do battle against the soul,
1 Peter 2:11

21
Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that
you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. For
this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done
everything, to stand. Stand firm therefore, by fastening the belt of truth around your waist, by putting on the breastplate of
righteousness, by fitting your feet with the preparation that comes from the good news of peace, and in all of this, by
taking up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of
salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit,
and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints. Pray for me also, that I may be given the
message when I begin to speak – that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an
ambassador in chains. Pray that I may be able to speak boldly as I ought to speak.
Ephesians 6:10-20

22
Do not give the devil an opportunity.
Ephesians 4:27

23
Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle
inside you? You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not
have because you do not ask; you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.
Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world means hostility toward God? So whoever decides to be the
world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy. Or do you think the scripture means nothing when it says, “The spirit that
God caused to live within us has an envious yearning”? But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the
proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:1-7

24
Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. Resist
him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same
kinds of suffering. And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in
Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him belongs the power forever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:8-11

25
But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not
dare to bring a slanderous judgment, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!
Jude 1:9

26
But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you. When a strong man, fully
armed, guards his own palace, his possessions are safe. But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away
the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder. Whoever is not with me is against me, and
whoever does not gather with me scatters.
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it passes through waterless places looking for rest but not finding any.
Then it says, ‘I will return to the home I left.’ When it returns, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes
and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so the last state of that person is worse
than the first.”
Luke 11:20-26

27
We do not give anyone an occasion for taking an offense in anything, so that no fault may be found with our ministry. But as
God’s servants, we have commended ourselves in every way, with great endurance, in persecutions, in difficulties, in
distresses, in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in troubles, in sleepless nights, in hunger, by purity, by knowledge, by
patience, by benevolence, by the Holy Spirit, by genuine love, by truthful teaching, by the power of God, with weapons of
righteousness both for the right hand and for the left, through glory and dishonor, through slander and praise; regarded as
impostors, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well-known; as dying and yet – see! – we continue to live; as those who are
scourged and yet not executed; as sorrowful, but always rejoicing, as poor, but making many rich, as having nothing, and
yet possessing everything.
2 Corinthians 6:3-10

28
For though we live as human beings, we do not wage war according to human standards, for the weapons of our warfare
are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments and every
arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it
obey Christ. We are also ready to punish every act of disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6

29
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that
clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and
perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the
right hand of the throne of God. Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not
grow weary in your souls and give up.
Hebrews 12:1-3

Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you become fruitful and inherit the land.
Exodus 23:30

The Lord will cause your enemies who attack you to be struck down before you; they will attack you from one direction but
flee from you in seven different directions.
