A child of God

1Jn 3:1f

3:1 (See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called God’s children – and indeed we are! For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know him. 3:2 Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is.

Saved by grace

Eph 2:8-9

2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 2:9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast.

Secure in his love

Rom 8:35ff

8:35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 8:36 As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 8:37 No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Justified

Rom 5:9

5:9 Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath.

Forgiven

Eph 1:7

1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

A new creation

5:17 So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away – look, what is new has come!

Salt and light

Mat 5:13f

5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people. 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden.

Having life

1Jn 5:12f

5:12 The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

5:13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

At peace with God

Truly free

Jn 8:31f,36

 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

8:36 So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.

Precious for God

Isa 43:4 

43:4 Since you are precious and special in my sight,

I will hand over people in place of you,

nations in place of your life.

His witness

Acts 1:8
